I’m grateful that most of the folks that I meet with are comfortably on their way to retirement or comfortably in retirement.
I came across an article recently that reminded me of a number of conversations I’ve had over the years though. I hear stories of children (and grandchildren) that struggle financially. The article confirms what I’m hearing in some of my conversations.
According to a recent survey, nearly half of Americans would have trouble finding $400 to pay for an emergency — even middle class working families. I’m one of them, says the author. He also has a good middle class income. He talks about his many financial problems and in the process he openly admits how he has tried to fake it, as though he has no worries.
This really shouldn’t be. The “financial impotence” mentioned in the article can be upgraded to “financial independence” with the right steps and some determination. A few corrective measures can assure a lifetime of contentment if not pleasure.
Employing a couple of important financial techniques may just make a huge transformation for your adult children.
