First, I want to share the good news – no more quarantine! As some of you may have heard, I had a bit of a cold at the beginning of the week. I have made a full recovery. Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes. It never progressed to more than a cough and a runny nose, either allergy-related or worst case the common cold. As I clear my throat a couple of times throughout the day, I watch those around me slightly back up and give me a questioning glare. It has opened my eyes more fully to the perspective of others and the challenges they are enduring.
This event, first and foremost, has all of us focused on the safety and health of our families, friends, and clients. We are closely monitoring the rapidly changing data and facts associated with COVID-19 and the impact it is having both locally and around the world.
In a previous email I mentioned my wife quarantined me for two days, and it was miserable. I can’t imagine enduring that for 14 days with the true ugly Coronavirus. Mine has been just a cold or allergies, while others are struggling to breathe. And so we have implemented a certain strategy at Wealth Advisors on business going forward to ensure that you continue to receive the same high level of service from us that you deserve and making health and your safety of utmost importance.
We have taken the recommended steps from El Paso County Public Health and Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment to minimize any potential impact to our clients as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and maximize our efforts to keep our team and clients safe.
- Our cleaning service is increasing the frequency that they clean our offices, as well as “upping their game”- deep cleaning necessary areas.
- Staff is cleaning high contact areas (light switches, doorknobs, etc.) throughout the day
- Frequent handwashing
- Not touching face or one another (sorry – no handshakes or hugs for a while)
- And if it becomes necessary that one or all of us should need to work from home, we are prepared to do that
My team and I already work from home on occasion, which you may not have known because we have made sure that it is seamless and does not impact you in any way. That will continue to be the case. Even if we are all at home, you will still be able to reach us at any of the numbers you have on file for us. And we each have the necessary protected and secure access to anything our clients may need should our city go on “lock-down”.
In 2012 when the Waldo Canyon Fire erupted, we strengthened our “Business Continuity Plan”, whereby we would have access to all files / databases / communication / etc. that we used to service clients. We made sure that connections are secure and protected, just as it is when we are in the office. And that we would be able to establish connection from anywhere, whether that be our homes, or another safe location if our homes were compromised.
Thankfully we never had to implement our Business Continuity Plan, however, it created a way of life for us at Wealth Advisors and at LPL. LPL requires us to test our Business Continuity Plan every year, which we just tested a couple of months ago. We each spent a day at home making sure we would be able to do EVERYTHING we needed to do. It went off without a hitch.
I share all this so that you know we are prepared to serve you with the highest quality of service you have always received from us AND we will follow safety protocol.
Just as with the Wildfires in 2012, we don’t expect to have to use these safeguards; we just want to assure you that they are in place.
We love seeing all of you in the office, however, we understand if you would prefer to have any upcoming appointments conducted via video or phone instead.
If you or a family member do become ill, please let us know. We wish everyone good health as we all work to get through this challenging time.
