Recently, I was at Phil Long Ford Chapel Hills to get some service performed on one of our vehicles. I saw Chris Detone, the GM and managing partner, who’s helped us with many of our vehicles over the years. He gave me a tour of the huge remodel and upgrade that they are doing to that location. It will be very impressive when it’s finished soon.
We were walking through the service area and I noticed some curious units at each bay door.
It turned out, those machines are the new alignment system they put in. As soon as you drive through the bay and through those machines, it checks the alignment on your vehicle. Actually, quite amazing. By the time you meet with the service advisor, they have an alignment report ready for you.
It reminded me what we do. Although we don’t have the fancy machine for you to walk through when you enter the office the process can be nearly as quick.
With just some basic information and about 15 minutes we can tell if you are out of ‘alignment.’
In that short time we can answer the four basic questions everyone needs to have answers to.
Those questions are:
- Do you know what rate of return you’ll have to earn for you to be able to live in the future like you live today, adjusted for inflation and have your money last to your life expectancy?
- Do you know how much you should be saving each month or annually to make sure you’ll have enough set aside to live like you live today adjusted for inflation?
- Do you know how long you’ll have to work before you can retire and have your money last to your life expectancy?
- Do you know how much you’ll have to reduce your standard of living if you don’t do something different to avoid running out of money before your life expectancy.
With the answers to those questions we know the points of alignment that we need to pay attention to. It becomes easy for you to see the alignment changes needed.
