It’s Spring Break in Colorado Springs and I’ve been reflecting on the “holiday” called Spring Break this week.
I grew up in Virginia and I don’t remember ever having a “Spring Break” during my grade school and high school years. I do remember having Good Friday and the Monday after Easter off. We always looked forward to that long weekend as kids but at that age I know it wasn’t for the right reasons.
As a family we don’t have any Spring Break traditions. Our home school kids (and their great teacher) get to take the week off at the same time the older kids’ do. Some years we’ve traveled, some not. If we’re not traveling I try to take some time off and spend it with the kids. This year we’re home as we’re waiting for the big trip this year (Disney) just after John graduates. Today I got in a two hour lunch and three games of bowling with the kids.
Do you have any Spring Break traditions? I would love to hear what fun things your family is up to.
